Lending money is our business.
Brothers Grant and Sean Donoghue along with Grant’s partner Alyson teamed up in 2008 to form Discount Loans, which was rebranded to Core Finance in 2016. Grant and Sean’s Father Brendan Donoghue formed the original Finance Company, Abcom Finance in 1992. In 1996 Sean joined Brendan as a Director of Abcom Finance, Brendan retired in 2004 leaving Sean as sole director. Sean has now surpassed 20 years in the business.
With a business model based on that of Abcom Finance, the Donoghue’s began lending in the non bank consumer finance market and later branched out into the mortgage adviser network and commercial finance. To this day the company still relies on its original lending platform which has been tried and tested over the last 20 years.
Grant is well known within the mortgage adviser network in Auckland and throughout New Zealand as a specialist non bank second mortgage lender. He has built up a core network of trusted financial advisers who work closely together to provide financial solutions to their clients. Providing a fast, friendly and efficient service has helped Grant build on this network and his relationship with its advisers and has given Core Finance the reputation it has today.
